As spring season is approaching fast, it was a nice day for Hike. Thought it was very cloudy, but cool breeze and fresh air made this hiking awesome. We learned lots of Hiking tips and about climbing and culture from our Hiking leader.
Below is the summary

  • How to use Hiking sticks properly - Make sure to adjust the height properly (ideally just above waist line)
  • How to pack backpack and carry on your back - Put light and not required stuff during hiking at the bottom followed by much needed items (food, jacket) on the top. Adjust stripes so that it is in upright position while you climb up.
  • Hiking and Climbing Culture - Don't throw away trash. Put them in shopper or on side pockets of your backpack and dump them when you go down.
  • Proper clothes and shoes - Don't wear running shoes or sneakers as they might slip on rocks. Wear suitable hiking shoes. Bring a jacket along with. You can take off jacket just before you feeling hot.
  • Bring at-least 2 water bottles along with you.
Some tips for hiking to any mountain in Korea especially Bukhansan and Dobongsan in Seoul

  • Wear Hiking shoes. As some of the trail is rocky. You can easily slip down
  • If you wear shorts or half sleeves shirt, you might get some bruises. So I recommend wearing full sleeves shirt and pants (Depending on weather)
  • Carry at-least 2L of water during summer season and 1L during spring and fall season.
  • Sometimes its competition to go uphill. Make sure to give space to someone who seems to be in hurry
